A hip little boutique showcasing the cream of the crop in bridesmaids dresses, dresses for the mother of the bride, accessories for the bridal party, and even some flirty little wedding dresses too, is a must visit.

It’s one of our fave stops and who can blame us…?

Walking into color coded gorgeousness hanging on the racks is an event planners dream!

And nestled in between those pretty little racks are amazing inspiration windows created by some of the top event talent here in Utah.

The focus of each window is a Lily & Iris dress that inspires a theme for an event or wedding.

And lucky us, we were asked to create one for the shop!

You’ve probably already seen the sneak peeks on Instagram, but today we’re showing you all of the little details that went into our design.

Ready to see the fun?

  We were inspired by this stunning strapless little number by The Dessy Group.

Gorgeous, right?

We  wanted to create an old Hollywood feel with a black and white color palette, reminiscent of black and white movies of the past, and have the dress as our pop of color.

Small vintage perfume bottles, silver beaded trays, and pearls (of course!) helped bring the theme to life.

Michelle at Cakenique created some amazing cakes for the window display.

We originally started out with one design but ended up choosing all three cakes after seeing how amazing they each were!

You’ll even find pearls and feathers adorning the cakes!

Small fashion books and Audrey Hepburn memoirs were stacked to give height and dimension to the window and the cutest little vintage phone just added that extra little touch!

We couldn’t have an old Hollywood inspired window without a photo of Audrey or Marilyn making an appearance.

The lovely Brandi of Alexis June Creative created an amazing stationery suite to showcase in the window.

A modern, graphic design in black and white was accented with custom hand painted silver details, adding that extra wow factor.

We also wanted to incorporate the iconic feather boa from the old Hollywood era into the window but we didn’t want to just throw a boa in there….

So instead, we created a custom backdrop made entirely out of black feathers. (Go big or go home, right?)

It gives the window some added movement and texture.

It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but the black backdrop is a soft feathery dream!

We have to brag a little bit, but we think Utah is pretty lucky to have so many great magazines here to inspire all of our local brides.

And we were very honored to be featured in two of the local issues this time around.

We’re sharing one with you today and the other feature soon….so stay tuned.

Utah Valley Bride Magazine asked us to lend our advice to two different articles featured in the magazine about new wedding etiquette rules and tips for your wedding.

They also decided to feature our fun southern inspiration shoot that we created in the Summer.

We must admit….it’s looks pretty fab in print. Don’t you agree?

January signifies a new year, new changes, and new boundaries, which is why we think metallics (which are sooooo on trend right now) are a perfect thing to incorporate into your bridesmaids look!

It’s a bold and modern choice but it’s really easy to add on to an existing look.

Incorporating one or two pieces into your bridesmaids attire is an easy way to modernize any style and metallics look great on any skin tone too which is great for the bevy of beauties in your line.

Not only can you incorporate metallics into the bridesmaid dress itself, but it’s so versatile that you can bring the look into accessories, makeup, or shoes, and it goes with almost any other color palette.

You really can’t go wrong with metallic pieces, although we probably wouldn’t suggest pairing all of these elements together so that your bridal party doesn’t look like they’re launching into space. :)

(Oh, and p.s, I am totally obsessed with Butter nail polish…A new obsession of mine. It you haven’t tried it, you need too. Amaze.)

Utah has literally frozen over. We’re talking coldest winter in almost 10 years. (Not my idea of a good time).

And to answer the question that you’re already thinking in your heads right now…no, I have no freaking idea why I live here.

Anyway, back to the post….I figured with Winter weddings in abundance and my lovely 1 degree outside, I thought it was a perfect time to post a little cozy winter wedding inspiration.

For this inspiration board I was inspired by the cozy knits and blankets you bundle up in when taking a sleigh ride.

You could use the same color palette I did here, but it’s easy to incorporate the graphic patterns and colors that are on your favorite thick, chunky sweaters, hats, and mittens. Even fun and vibrant neon’s would be a fun way to modernize this theme!

Knit napkins wraps, button details, leather (or faux leather) accents, and lots of yarn help to bring this theme to life.

Mini mittens as escort cards, textured scarves as table runners, and even jingle bells (found on a sleigh) are all fun ways to incorporate the theme.

Serve guests warm treats like apple cobbler or fresh baked brownies, and have some fun with a custom hot chocolate or coffee station with different toppings, a good way to warm your guests up when it’s cold out!

If you’re having the ceremony or reception at a mountain resort (like the many options we have here in Utah), transport your guests to the party by sleigh ride. Many resorts offer them and it’s such a fun way to get guests talking before they even arrive!

This theme is a sure fire (no pun intended!) way to keep things warm in the snow!

For me, I love creating boards that showcase my inspiration. For one, it’s much easier to explain to other vendors what I’m thinking up in my head, but it’s also a great way to get everything organized and make sure my vision is cohesive.
